- If you were not at Pirate Stadium this past Friday night for the biggest girls' soccer game in Southeast Texas this season, then what were you thinking? Your Lady Pirates derailed the L-train from Lumberton for the second time this season, clinching the #1 seed for the playoffs and earning the title of DISTRICT CHAMPIONS for the first time since 2014! This team is 19-1 on the season with 15 shutouts and is looking to make a deep run in the playoffs. Come out and watch these girls play before the season is over! Congrats LPS!!
- The Girls Powerlifting Team lifted at Regionals last Thursday in Palacios. 5th place Khloe Adcock and Leslie Harris, 4th place Shelbie Anderson, 3rd place Chloe Gibson, 2nd place and State Qualifiers were Zoey Reyes, Bailey Nixon, & Kailynn Rodriguez, Regional Champions and also State Qualifiers were Taylor Light and Bailey Foxworth. Taylor Light set a Regional record with a 230-pound bench press. As a Team, they finished 2nd with 41 points, behind El Campo with 45; Lumberton was 3rd with 27.
- The Boys Powerlifting Team lifted at Regionals in Navasota on Friday. 5th place Connor Turner, 4th place Logan Pope, Peyton Bartosh and AJ Taylor (State Qualifier), 3rd place Aldo Nunez, 2nd place and State Qualifiers David Austin, Amilkar Rosa- Gonzalez, Regional Champions and State Qualifiers Thomas Mondragon and Campton Seymore. David Austin won the Outstanding Deadlift Award with a 580-pound deadlift. The Boys Team finished as the Region 4 Regional Champions with 34 pts, Shepherd was 2nd with 31, Needville was 3rd with 20.
The Girls will lift at State in Edinburg on March 20th, the boys' State meet is on March 27 in Abilene.

- Pirates, this is your call to the stage! This Saturday, Vidor High School’s One Act Play, The Scarlet Letter, takes the spotlight at District competition. After three months of hard work and rehearsal, the Pirate Players are ready for their moment. Vidor performs at 11:00 a.m. at Lamar University’s Mainstage Theatre in Beaumont. Tickets are just five dollars and are good for the entire day of performances. Come witness the drama. Come support the art. Come cheer on your Pirate Players. We’ll see you at the theatre this Saturday!
- VHS will be offering a technology class next year that will involve making video highlights for sporting events and participating in post-game interviews. If you love to take photos, record videos, or have experience with editing software, or would like to learn, swing by Coach Foster's room 411 or email him at dfoster@vidorisd.org
- Students and Staff - March 13th is our Spring Pep Rally, and we are bringing back a few favorites. Lip Sync Battle and Tug of War are back. We will also have 3v3 inflatable indoor soccer! We would like to have multiple games of teachers vs students for this, but we need you to sign up! A Google Form has been dropped in your Google Classroom. Please get this completed ASAP!

- Playoff Bound!! Our Pirates soccer team played amazingly last night, beating a tough Bridge City side 3-2! This victory clinched us a spot in the 2026 playoffs! This puts them 7-2 for district play. 2 goals for Troy McElveen, 1 goal Daykel Justiz, and 1 Assist for Dylan Davis.

- On Friday, your Varsity Pirate Tennis Team participated in the Kirbyville Tennis Tournament. The Pirates battled hard all day, with several playing all the way up to the semi-final rounds. Help me in congratulating partners Jordan Goodman and Hudson Gau for placing third in the Boys A Doubles bracket!
- Lady Pirate Soccer got another shutout win Friday night, defeating Bridge City 6-0 for the second time this season! Your Lady Pirates are 18-1 on the season and remain in first place in the district with a 9-0 record. Great job LPS!!

- Happy National FFA Week! Teachers, the Vidor FFA Chapter has left some treats for you in the 100 Teacher's Lounge. Please stop by sometime today to grab one. Students, the Golden Egg has yet to be found from the Egg Hunt this week. Be on the search for it today during transitions and lunch, and if you're lucky enough to find it, bring it to Mr. Root in Room 508 to claim your prize.
- Yesterday, the 9th and JV Tennis Teams participated in the Pirate Invitational. All players played very hard throughout the day, and we are proud of them all, but the Pirates brought home some hardware: Lillie Tatum placed 3rd in the Girls Singles Bracket, Colt Allen placed 3rd in the Boys Singles Bracket, and Kyler Marshall placed 2nd in the Boys Singles Bracket. They all will be back in action next Thursday.
