Dress Code

Dress Code Reminders

The full dress code can be found in the student handbook, but we want to highlight a few areas where students often have difficulty meeting expectations:

  • Tattoos – Must be covered at all times.

  • Septum piercings – Not allowed and must be removed.

  • Other piercings – Only one stud in the nose and earrings are allowed. No eyebrow, mouth, or other facial piercings.

  • Midriff – The stomach area must be covered at all times; no exposed midriffs.

  • Leggings – If worn, the shirt or top must meet dress code and be at least fingertip length.

  • “Off-the-shoulder” shirts – Not allowed.

  • Boys’ shorts – Must be fingertip length.

Enforcement
If a student is out of dress code, they will receive a referral each time. They will be asked to correct the violation and will receive appropriate consequences. If the infraction cannot be fixed, the student will be placed in ISS. Periodic, campus-wide dress code checks will take place throughout the week and school day.

To avoid referrals, students should arrive at school in compliance with the dress code. This policy will be non-negotiable, and our expectation is that students adhere to it consistently. Upholding high expectations in this area will be a point of emphasis this year and beyond. We ask for your help and support in minimizing dress code violations and keeping the focus on learning.
