Friday, January 16th, 2026

 

  • The girls & boys powerlifting meet was last night & the girls team finished 2nd to Nederland. 1st place finishers were Kailynn Rodriguez, Zoey Reyes, Bailey Foxworth, Shelbie Anderson, Taylor Light. 2nd place finishers were Chloe Gibson, Bailey Nixon, 3rd place finishers were Kelly Weyant, 4th place finishers were Leslie Harris, Michelle Longpre, 5th place finishers were Ivy Parker, and Khloe Adcock.

The Boys Team placed 1st. 1st place finishers were Campton Seymore, Thomas Mondragon, Logan Pope, Dylan Corning, 2nd place finishers were Aldo Nunez, Amikar Rico Gonzales, Conner Turner, AJ Taylor, 3rd place finishers were Luke Barras, Peyton Bartosh, Brody Stankovich, 4th place finishers were Conner Peddy. 

Coach Burks & the Powerlifting Team would like to thank everyone who donated their time to make this meet a success!

  • The National Honor Society here at VHS is collecting donations for the Humane Society of Southeast Texas. Donations of new or gently used blankets, dry dog and cat food, and new toys are greatly appreciated! Donations can be dropped off in drop-boxes throughout the school. There is also a QR code link to the Humane Society Amazon Wishlist posted on flyers throughout the school. Let's all work together to make a difference for animals in need!!
  • We will have our next Principal Advisory Committee Meeting on January 20th at 9:15 am in the Library. You can only attend if you have been on this committee previously.
  • There will be a mandatory tryout meeting for the 2026-2027 Brigadette Drill Team on Monday. January 26th @ 6 pm in the Brig Room. All candidates must attend with 1 parent/guardian. 
  • VIDOR TRACK & FIELD — ARE YOU READY to have some fun? Calling ALL boys and girls who are interested in speed, strength, and competition! If you’re thinking about joining The Track team, don’t miss this important meeting! Thursday, January 22, 4:00 PM in the Health room. Be on the lookout for flyers around campus and at the field house outside the boys’ and girls’ athletic offices. Scan the QR code on the flyer to sign up and let us know you’re interested in trying out! Lace up, show up, and take your first step toward the track season. We can’t wait to see you there!

Donations of new or gently used blankets, dry dog and cat food, and new toys are greatly appreciated! Donations can be dropped off in drop-boxes throughout the school. There is also a QR code link to the Humane Society Amazon Wishlist posted on flyers throughout the school. Let's all work together to make a difference for animals in need!!

  • Lady Pirate Soccer defeated the Lady Bulldogs from Kelly 5-0 last night to improve to 7-1 on the season. LPS will host Huffman Hargrave on Monday next week at 2pm. Come out and watch them play! Congrats ladies!

  • Congratulations to the Lady Pirate Soccer teams for representing VISD well this past weekend in their tournaments. Both the JV and Varsity teams went undefeated to reach their Tournament Championship games. Both teams fought hard, but each team suffered their first loss of the season and took home runner up honors. Great work LPS! Varsity travels to Kelly High School tonight to play at 6pm and JV will play again this Thursday-Sat at the Lumberton Tournament. Wish them luck!
